Chattahoochee High School is pleased to announce KITTEN II, the younger sibling to our annual high school tournament, CATT! Our tournament will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at:

Chattahoochee High School
5230 Taylor Road

Registration: Format:
We will only field a single division. Only teams composed of middle school players will be allowed to compete.
  • Each team will play 5 preliminary rounds in the morning.
  • Lunch will be served after prelims, and concessions will be available for purchase.
  • Teams that qualify for playoffs will play a single elimination bracket in the afternoon.
  • The rules/format of the tournament are subject to change depending on the size of the field. We plan to cap the field at 24 teams.
  • Plaques will go to the top 4 teams.
  • We will not keep individual statistics.
Cost:
  • The registration cost will be $90 per team.
  • There will be a $5 discount for providing a working buzzer system (limit one).
  • Lunch will be $7 and consist of two slices of pizza, chips, and a beverage.
  • Registration payment can be given on the day of the tournament or paid online.
  • Make checks payable to Chattahoochee High School, and you may pay through mail (5230 Taylor Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30022) or on-site when checking-in to the tournament.
Question Set:
  • We will be mirroring MS-49, a NAQT middle school difficulty set.
Rules:
  • Rounds will include 20 tossups with 20 bonuses.
  • If two teams are tied at the end of a round, the moderator will read sudden-death tossups until one team answers correctly.
  • We will use powers (15). There will be no penalties (-5) for interrupts.
  • There will be no bouncebacks on bonuses.
  • Five players are allowed per team.
  • Substitutes are allowed at the half of each round.
  • Timing will be 5 seconds after the question to buzz, 5 seconds to give your answer once buzzed in, and 5 seconds to confer and answer on bonuses.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope to see you at the tournament!
