OU Kelvin Sampson Memorial Tournament (6/30) (UMD mirror)

Post by Nyktophoros »

OU will be holding a mirror of UMD's summer tournament on 6/30/2007 with the official name The Kelvin Sampson Memorial Tournament: Don't Call Us, We'll Call You.

Our fee structure is as follows:

Base: $50 per team
Working Buzzer: -$5
Distance (Mapquest, etc.): -$5 per 100 miles
Half-Packet (using UM's distribution): -$10
Full-Packet (ibid): -$20
Minimum: $25 per team

For packet purposes, please send the packets to UMD (let them know you plan to attend OU's tournament, though) and let us know as well that you've submitted.

For this tournament we will also accept not only college teams, but high schoolers, graduates, mixed teams of players from multiple places - basically anybody who wants to play (save, of course, people who have attended UMD's tournament a week earlier). If you're a free agent looking to get on a team, let us know and we'll try to find a place for you. If you'd like to volunteer to work, there is no additional team discount, but there is free lunch.

Additionally, we will probably be running a mini-game or two, in addition to the Trash, should players be interested.

To register, please send an e-mail to Jeremy Hixson at [email protected] by June 27th. To see any news or updates to the field please check our website: http://www.ou.edu/student/okacf/index.html where we will have registration information and an attendance list posted under Upcoming Tournaments.

Yesterday, OU held our mirror of Maryland's Chris McCray tournament. A team from Oklahoma State, Team Melanin Deficient, defeated Tulsa's Alcoholics Synonymous in the championship match to take the crown in our six team event. Individual honors go to Captain Morgan and Jack Daniels of Alcoholic Synonymous, Mom of Team Melanin Deficient, and Lemmy Kilmeister of University of LIFE, who also took the neg award. Stats will be posted on our website as soon as our webmaster can be contacted to do that. We at OU would like to extend our thanks to all of the teams who came to participate and especially to Maryland's team for putting a lot of work into putting together a great set.
