TRASHionals Stats Online

Post by QuizbowlPostmodernist »

I've put up the team and individual stats on the TRASH blog. Just to head off questions, I don't have access to the official TRASH website, so I haven't personally posted the full QSBS array of stats there.

There is a caveat that there are known problems with some of the stats. If you were at the tournament, you may recall that some win-loss numbers were inaccurate and caused a delay in determining playoff rankings, and those errors are probably still in these numbers. In addition, some of the playoff numbers are clearly wrong. I didn't do the data entry, so I can't answer any questions about that.

I do have possession of the scoresheets, but I don't know if I have all of them, so these numbers won't be corrected, at least not anytime soon.

You can say that again. I'm not sure how I played 10 games in the 9-game preliminary round.

Also, just a note for those seeing the stats, I'm "Evan Nagler". Fukme Tutears (Even Nagler) was Leo Wolpert.

Anthony, If you need a place to host sqbs stats, e-mail me.

While I'm thrilled to see that Matt Levine is still playing quizbowl, I refuse to believe that Jon Pennington answered zero questions during 5 rounds.

Heh, I just noticed some teams were over 35 P/B.

FWIW, it was I, not Evan Nagler, playing under the name Fukme Tutears.

Of course, that still doesn't explain the team with 56.79 PPB in the playoffs.

Some of the scoresheets are in pretty bad and nearly illegible shape. The day two scoresheets are in worse shape than day one. So, I don't blame the staff for having errors.

I would note that robin richards for SEC commish wasn't in bracket B, IIRC, the other teams were, don't know what accounts for the lack of 6 playoff matches for some non-bottom bracket teams.

I don't get this, is it really that hard to keep score? Pretty much every tournament ever manages this without problems; I would think that a national tournament would have no shortage of competent staff members who are capable of filling out scoresheets.

Thanks for the offer, but I've already emailed the files to John Kilby, who will put them onto the TRASH website.

I am considering redoing the playoff stats. I probably won't redo the prelims. I appear to have all but one scoresheet (last playoff round, Piranha Club vs Fred Funk Railroad All Stars). I might even do it this weekend, depending on how much time I spend at the casino.
