more from previous categories)

E-mail me about arrangements for novice teams, multiple teams from the same school, packet questions, etc.

Thanks,
Andrew

Alabama is having a delayed mirror of PARFAIT on the same day - Dec 8, and as far as I know, the answer to your question is therefore no.

At present, we don't have a Southeast mirror planned.

Can we get an update on the field and the status of this tournament?

Hmmm, so maybe this should be mirrored instead of parfait? Don't want to make people go back on agreements or anything, but just throwing out the thought.

I'm just curious as to whether this tournament will actually happen. There has been no packet or field update and I have no idea if there are going to be enough packets to even have an event. We may bring 2 teams and both teams will write packets, but I'm reluctant to burn 2 packets on an event which may or may not happen.

Jerry, I don't know if this is helpful or not, but we turned in our packet last night and will be sending one team if the tournament happens.

Yeah, we also submitted a packet and got a confirmation on it, so it kinda seems like this is happening, though of course there's no way to be sure unless someone from Yale posts to that effect.

Thanks Andrew. We should be able to confirm the exact number of teams after our practice tomorrow.

I have updated the field again. If what it says in regard to your school is incorrect in any way, please let me know as soon as possible.

Registration will begin at 8:30, and the rounds will begin at 9:15.

The tournament will be held in William L. Harkness Hall (WLH), the same building in which it was held last year. Doubtless to Jason Keller's chagrin, this building has not moved any closer to the Educated Burger on Broadway. Directions are available here: http://www.yale.edu/ysac/driving.html

11 teams showed up to BOB today.

Brown and Maryland (a.k.a. "Brown A") won handily, dispatching Harvard to win the tournament.

The top scorer was Jason from Rutgers, followed by "Chris Ray" from Brown A. Full statistics will, I hope, be posted by the end of the day tomorrow.

Thanks to Charlie Dees, Matt Weiner, and the folks from UCI and UCLA for writing freelance questions.

Thanks to everyone who came and who played. I hope that, in spite of some logistical snafus and uneven packets, everyone who came to the tournament enjoyed it.

Neither of those things detracted from my enjoyment of the tournament; I had a great time, the moderation was great, the logistics were ok, etc, etc. Thanks to the Yale club for putting on a tournament on a weekend which was undoubtedly bad for most of you (I'm assuming your finals occur around the same time as ours).

Wait, so princeton is occupying Yale's campus? And both BoB and PARFAIT haven't posted final stats yet? I sense a correlation.

I'm posting here in case my e-mails haven't gotten through, but is it possible to buy/trade for the BoB set? Players from many of the Florida schools are having a packet reading/holiday gathering on 12/27 and we'd love some fresh material (haters: insert jokes here!). If so, please drop me a line at cborglum at valenciacc.edu . Either way, thanks!
