Sabbatai Tzvi Memorial Latke Eating Contest

Post by BuzzerZen »

Announcing (perhaps) the Inaugural Sabbatai Tzvi Memorial Latke Eating Contest, to take place during the Chicago Open weekend, likely on Friday after the July Crisis history doubles, in a location to be determined. Entry fee is $10 per person, with a field size and rules to be decided based on how much latke batter I decide I can prepare that afternoon. The likely format will be something along the lines of "eat as many latkes as possible within n minutes", where n is in [3,5]. To register, post in this thread or email me at [email protected]. This will be canceled if I do not make it to CO, if I don't get permission from the parents to bring the Cuisinart and electric skillet to CO, or I decide this is too absurd to pull off.

Field:
Greg Peterson
Matt Weiner
Evan Silberman
Hampshire College 07F

LATKES! Evan, I bet you my sister's latkes are like 50 million times better than yours.

There is no question that I will participate in and win this competition.

Edit: Does the entry fee have to be paid in Jew gold?

If this happens, there pretty clearly will be an announcing crew, and maybe someone has a cheap camcorder?

Hm, so given recent discussion about how busy this whole CO shindig is going to be, I'm leaning towards canceling this. If anyone can think of a way to squeeze a latke-eating contest in without me having to make the batter either in the car or at 2am, you should let me know. Otherwise, I'll run a latke-eating contest at some unspecified occasion in the future.

If meth labs can be operational in moving vans, there's no reason you can't cook actual food in them.

HI is more likely because Harvard is notably a 2-hour drive from my own educational institution, as opposed to...far.
