Format: Standard NAQT format (https://www.naqt.com/rules.html).


Registration: To register, please email me at [email protected], with the number of teams (limit three), buzzers, and moderators you plan to bring. None of these are required, but are highly encouraged. Registration will close on March 18th .

Fees and discounts:

-First team: $70
-Second team: $60
-Third team: $50
-Buzzer system: -$10 each
-Moderator/scorekeeper: -$10 each
-Never Attended a Pitt tournament: -$10
-Over 200 miles traveled (one way):-$10
Minimum fee per team: $40. Buzzers must be completely functional with at least 8 signaling devices to receive discount; moderators should be experienced.

Payment: Please make checks out to "Pitt Quiz Bowl". We prefer to be paid with cash or check on the day of the tournament; please email if you need to make other arrangements.

Schedule: Day-of registration will be from 8:30 to 9:00 am, with round 1 starting by 9:30. Number of rounds and playoff/finals format will be determined by the field size. Logistical information will be provided to registered teams.

Congratulations to Winchester Thurston for winning Battle of the Burgh XX.

We had earlier declared that Allderdice A was the winner but made a stat error.

Official stats are now up!

I'm still working on getting the official numbers for the 12th round match between Central Catholic and Allderdice B.

There seem to still be a high number of anomalies in the statistics. Several rounds have bonus points with the teams ending in numbers with five, which is impossible. Considering this is not the first time UPitt tournaments have had wonky stats and the rest of the state could really use proper stats for the statewide awards and honors which have been instituted the past couple years, it would be most excellent if something could be done to stop this frequent problem from happening.

Am I the only one who is the least-bit confused about how a "stat error" could cause an announcement of the winner of a tournament to be incorrect?

They were a victim of the SQBS bug in which a game result isn't saved unless you navigate to another game first, so one game result got omitted from the standings they looked at.
