Megateam*Miniteam: An Open Experience (8/7/21) (HS Open)

I am excited to announce the first-ever Megateam * Miniteam: An Open Experience on Saturday, August 7th, 2021. The tournament will take place on Discord and will use the AQBL R1 question set (the one being used at AQBL May). It will be a High School Open Tournament. I (Nick Pruitt) will be acting as tournament director. The Tournament will start at 10:30 AM EST to best accommodate all North American Time Zones.
Divisions:
This tournament will have 4 separate divisions, Megateam X, Megateam Q, Miniteam X, and Miniteam Q. The Megateam division requires your team have 4 people playing at all times, with up to 2 subs on your roster. Miniteam is for teams of 2-3 People. X Division is for Expert Level teams, Q Division is our version of a Standard Division. If there is a lack of demand, the tournament will be merged into two divisions, one for Megateams and one for Miniteams.
Question Set
This tournament will be on the AQBL R1 set, head edited by Dylan Bowman. This set is of regular hs difficulty. We will be using only tossups.
Eligibility
This tournament is open to students in the high school classes of 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025. We highly encourage teams to be composed of people from multiple schools. Teams may be moved up to X Division if it is found that they are too good for Q Division.
Payment
The tournament will take place entirely online. Megateam Division will cost $55 per team, and Miniteam Division will cost $35 per team. Payment Details will be released as we get closer to the tournament, though payment will be done via PayPal, Venmo, and Credit Card.
To abide by PACE Guidelines, this tournament will require players to use cameras. This tournament will be using Discord Video.
We will be using PACE Rules for this tournament, with TD Discretion where necessary.
Due to the large amount of planning and setup for online tournaments, any team canceling after 9:59 PM EST on Wednesday, August 4th, will be expected to pay full tournament dues.
Registration:
Registration will occur on the spreadsheet. Teams and Staff will register by division. Registration will close on Wednesday, August 4th.
Staff:
If you want to read for Megateam*Miniteam, please put your name down on the spreadsheet. Staff will be given a stipend of $30.
