MRNA at Cornell (3/5)

Post by Cosmas's Tabernacular Earth »

I am pleased to announce a mirror of MRNA taking place at RIT on March 5, 2022. We will be meeting in room 3355 of the Eastman Building at 8:45 am to start the tournament at 9:00 am. Parking on campus is free on weekends, and D and E lots are both close to the Eastman building.

Set Information
This tournament will run on MRNA, a medium (two dots) difficulty set. Details about the set can be found here.

Fees
Base fee: $120 per team
Buzzer discount: -$10 per working buzzer set
Staff discount: -$15 per capable staffer
New school discount: -$40 if your school has not played a college tournament between September 1, 2019 and September 1, 2021
Minimum fee: $45 per team

Covid Protocols
All participants in this event must provide proof of vaccination. It is not clear at this time whether or not RIT's definition of fully vaccinated will include a booster. Your proof can be provided as a vaccine card, a photo of your vaccine card, or via Excelsior Pass. All participants must follow RIT's current covid protocols which can be found at https://www.rit.edu/ready/rit-safety-plan. Masks will be required in all indoor areas, and eating in the game rooms is not allowed. Information on the relevant covid protocols will be sent to the teams in the logistics email.

Registration
To register, email me at [email protected] with the number of teams, buzzers, and staffers your school plans on bringing. Please register by March 2 (the Wednesday before the tournament).

In order to accommodate travel issues, this tournament has been moved from RIT to Cornell. I will remain tournament director. Participants should note that Cornell's masking policy requires the use of a surgical mask or an N95 equivalent. Suitable masks will be provided in the control room for those who don't have one. Full logistics information can be found here.

Congratulations to Cornell A, who went 9-0 to clear the field and win this tournament. Stats can be found here. Particular thanks go out to Richard Niu and Nathan Zhang for their work in making the short notice site change happen (and the quirks of geography for making a compact enough circuit for a short notice site change to be viable in the first place)
