The University of Iowa Quizbowl Team will be hosting a site of 2022 WORKSHOP on February 26th, 2022. Tony Cosimini will serve as the tournament director. The opening meeting will take place at 8:30 AM CST, and the first round will begin at 9 AM CST. The field will be capped at 16 teams, with adjustments made as necessary.

Location and Directions:
We will hold the tournament in North Hall on the East side of campus at 20 West Davenport St, Iowa City. The closest parking ramp is on 120 N Madison St and Jefferson Street, across from the Iowa Memorial Union. To get to North Hall from the parking ramp, follow the sidewalk along Jefferson Street to the top of the hill. Then take a left to follow the T. Anne Cleary Walkway north all the way past the residence halls to a red brick building. For your reference, here are is a campus map.
From North Hall, several restaurants are an eight-minute walk away, including a Chipotle, a Noodles and Company, and a Freddy’s. To get food, head east toward Clinton Street and take a right to go south toward the downtown area.

Eligibility:
This tournament is for teams of eligible players representing a single university, community college, or other post-secondary institution of higher education. Edge cases regarding eligibility will be handled according to the ACF guidelines. No "mixed" or "open" teams are permitted at this site.

Format:
Rounds will consist of 20 tossups with three-part bonuses. There will be powers and negs, but no bounce back on bonuses. Based on each team’s record, teams will be seeded into playoff brackets. All teams will be offered a minimum of 8 games, and statistics will be kept in full. Rounds will not be timed. Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated.

Payment:
The fees for the tournament are as follows:
Base fee: $120
-$10 discount per working buzzer system (max 2 per team)
-$15 discount for teams that provide an experienced moderator (as determined by the TD/if staff is necessary)
-$10 discount per 200 miles traveled one way from your school to the University of Iowa as determined by Google Maps.
-$10 if your team is shorthanded(Less than 3 people on a team)
Minimum fee per team: $50
