IQBT NASAT Warm-Up - May 24 on Qblitz

Post by AKKOLADE »

IQBT and Qblitz are hosting a set of forty tossups to play on Tuesday, May 24 for use as a warm-up set for next month's NASAT event. These questions will roughly follow the distribution for NASAT.

This one-day event will have two divisions: a high school-only division and a open division for any high school graduates.

The entry fee is $10 per person. You can register here.

I was asked this, so: this set does not contain questions from this year's set. It was actually written last year by a separate team from last year's NASAT production team; we've been sitting on it since then.

So, to clarify, these are completely new questions that have never been in a NASAT or will not be in a future NASAT?

A prior version of this announcement listed the set as consisting of 60 tossups; it actually consists of 40 tossups. I apologize for my error.

If you have registered for the tournament and this has caused you to change your mind, please email myself and Qblitz ASAP and we'll get you a refund.

Congratulations to the winner of our open division, Matt Jackson! He came out on top in a field of 14 players. Ned Tagtmeier took second and Walter Z took third.

On a category-by-category basis, Jackson was tops in current events, history, RMP, and social science. Walter Z was number one in arts. Ned Tagtmeier was the best performer in literature. Alexander Li was the best individual in science and geography.

Thanks to everyone that played!
