R. Robert Hentzel Steps Down from NAQT

Post by AKKOLADE »

The following was posted on NAQT's home page under "What's the Buzz?" but there's no way to link directly to it.

"Farewell to R. Robert Hentzel

"As of July 1, 2022, R. Robert Hentzel has decided to step down as an active member of NAQT. R. has served our company as Chief Editor, Chief Technical Officer, and for more than two decades as President. R.'s work writing and editing questions, building our technical infrastructure, and administering our national championships has brought quiz bowl to tens of thousands of players around the country and around the world. NAQT would not be what it is today without R.'s tremendous effort over the last 25 years. We will all miss his contributions to the world of quiz bowl, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

He is a winner of both the Carper Award and Benjamin Cooper Academic Ambassador Award, the first person to win both and just one of two to do so to date.
