2023 ILLIAC II Online Open Playtest Mirror (October 7, 2023)

I am pleased to announce the online playtest mirror of 2023 ILLIAC II. More information about the set can be found here. Please direct any questions regarding this tournament to mitchmc10 AT yahoo.com.

Logistics:

The tournament will be held on October 7, 2023. We will use a Discord server to centralize gameplay, with the actual rounds being played with Zoom and buzzin.live. There will be an opening meeting at 9:45 a.m. Eastern Time and gameplay will begin at 10:00 a.m. The link to the Discord server will be sent out in an email with further information the week prior to the tournament.

Rules and Eligibility:

This tournament will use ACF’s gameplay rules with the addition of powermarks.

This is an open tournament meaning that it is open to all players not currently affiliated with an academic institution. Collegiate or high school teams that wish to play this tournament should play in-person or online mirrors for their region/field; however, if they are unable to play those mirrors and wish to play this one instead, they should reach out to the email at the top of this post to explain their situation, and they may be given an exception.

A team formation sheet can be found here. To officially register for the tournament, please send an email to the address at the top of this post with your team name and player names.

Payment:

Payment for this tournament will be $20 per person. We will send out information regarding methods of payment in the logistics email before the tournament.

Code of Conduct:

It should go without saying that cheating or any behavior conflicting with the 2021 WORKSHOP Code of Conduct will not be tolerated.

The playtest for ILLIAC II, being held online on October 7th, is still open for sign-ups. If anyone unlikely, or unable, to play regional mirrors is interested, you can put your name down on the spreadsheet linked in the original post to sign up as a free agent or as a team!

I am setting the field cap for this tournament at 6 teams. At the moment this is being written, there are still two more spots left for free agents. I will send out a logistics email to teams sometime tomorrow.
