2023-2024 PACE Technology Collaborative

Post by ashkum »

PACE is delighted to announce the brand-new PACE Technology Collaborative Initiative: a new initiative set up by PACE where selected members will be put in groups to work on the next generation of Quizbowl technology. See below for details.

Program Details
Throughout the school year, anyone selected to participate will be put together in a group to work on a project involving technology that would enhance Quizbowl in a novel way. This is a volunteer program, and each person would be expected to put in around a couple hours a week on average. Every 2-3 weeks, we will meet up virtually and discuss progress.

These projects consist of either new ideas, existing ideas that have been tossed around for some time, or something of the working group’s own design.

We are looking for people with all sorts of interests in technology including software development, technical writing, and test engineering. No tech experience is needed for the program, so long as you are willing to learn and love Quizbowl!

Selection to the program is dependent on the number of projects we have available and people needed to fill those roles.

Eligibility
Anyone who has a high school diploma or a GED equivalent is eligible to apply for the program.

Application
To apply, submit your resume and personal information using the form here. Applications are due on Saturday, September 30th at 11:59 Pacific Time.

Questions
If you have any questions, please feel free to post on this thread, message me on the forums, or email me at [email protected]

How often will we get updates about what projects are being worked on and how much progress is being made?

Currently, we do not plan to release updates on what projects we will be working on until a project is functionally ready for use so that candidates do not feel implicitly pressured to meet certain deadlines. All candidates will be informed of potential projects to work on during the interview process.
