Musical Mystery Tour [Poll]

Post by Habitat_Against_Humanity »

Hi all,

Somewhat on a whim, I decided to see if I could still write questions reasonably well on a fairly constrained topic. The result of about 10 days of writing for an hour or so after work has resulted in a tossup-only trash music packet. The answerlines will be songs that share the exact or close to exact same title. it'll be 20 or so tossups on a theme that runs the gamut of popular music genres (not a ton of current pop music though). Some artists will be clued multiple times.

Difficulty skews fairly hard I'd say, but everything should be largely gettable by the giveaway.

Please select a date if you're interested in playing. I figure a lot of people will be traveling for tournaments on Saturday evening, so I'm avoiding Saturdays, but if the masses mandate a Saturday reading, I can oblige.

Vote by next Thursday.

A couple updates:

1. I'm calling this packet SETLIST (Some Entertaining Tests on Learning Identical Song Titles).
2. Haphazardly placed powermarks are included.
3. A lot of it's pretty vanity and based on things I like, but I did make a concerted effort to also clue music I wasn't initially familiar with
4. Tossups vary in difficulty a fair amount from very gettable to "really just excessive"; a phrase dating way back in Chicago to c. 2007 when Andrew Yaphe (I think) used the phrase to describe Peter Austin's combined vanity packet on Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and battleships. You are forewarned.
5. It's looking like this will be read Friday at 9 PM Eastern, but if you want a different time, please vote.
