Hi, details on qualifying for the NSC can now be found on our website here: https://www.pace-nsc.org/2023-2024-nsc- ... uidelines/

For the 2024 NSC, we have simplified qualification. There is now just one tier of qualifiers (no more Platinum, Gold, Regular) that qualifies the top 20% of teams.

And we have simplified the procedure for determining if a tournament qualifies to the following:
-All teams are guaranteed at least 8 games.
-The tournament is not restricted to novice players or teams.

Apologies for the delay as we have made some updates to our system and qualification procedures. We realize that many fall tournaments have already taken place. Tournament directors will now instantly get a decision on whether their tournament qualified in submitting the qualification form and then can submit results.

Qualification form: http://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQ ... sp=sf_link
Results form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... sp=sf_link

We will still email hosts as a reminder, but the system should now also be 100% self-serve.

Thanks!

Wildcard bids are now open for the 2024 PACE NSC.

If your team has not qualified but is interested in playing in the NSC, you may submit a wildcard bid. Additionally, a school that has qualified its A team for the NSC may submit wildcard bids for additional teams (B team, C team, etc.) if those additional teams have not qualified through other means.

Teams may submit a wildcard bid by emailing [email protected] with the following:
  • Team name
  • Contact information
  • Summary of the team's accomplishments throughout the year.
The PACE wildcard committee will determine whether to grant the team entry to the NSC and return a decision within three weeks of receiving the application.

PACE will automatically approve wildcard bids from teams who finished highly enough at tournaments that meet our standard for qualifier status, even if the events are not officially listed as such. For example: "City High School A" finishes in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place at the "City Invitational Tournament." This event had a field of 20 teams, was run on an NAQT Invitational Series set, offered 8 games to all teams, and kept team statistics (within the 20% cutoff of a qualifier). If City High School A were to submit a wildcard bid for NSC, the bid would be automatically approved regardless of whether the City Invitational Tournament was on the list of official qualifier events.

This has been implicitly true for wildcard bids in the past but is now official PACE policy.
