Penn Bowl at UNC (4 November)

Hello all,

UNC Quizbowl is very excited to officially announce that the Lower Mid-Atlantic mirror of 2023 Penn Bowl will be hosted at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on November 4th, 2023. We apologize for the delay in getting this post up, but greatly appreciate everyone’s patience!

Logistics:
The tournament will be held in Phillips Hall (E Cameron Ave, Chapel Hill, NC 27514). Registration will be taking place in Phillips 0332 beginning at 8:15am followed by the opening meeting at 8:45am. We aim to begin gameplay at 9:00am. I, Benjamin McAvoy-Bickford, will be tournament directing.

Registration:
The field size is capped at 8-10 teams; all college teams are eligible to participate. To register, email [email protected] and [email protected]. Please include "Penn Bowl Registration" in the email subject as well as specify where you are from, the number of teams you would like to bring, and any relevant discounts. Once your registration has been logged, we will send you a confirmation email so please be on the lookout for that and feel free to reach out again if you have not received one within 24 hours! Hosting:
At the UNC site we will use the following discount system:
$120 base fee per team
-$10 per buzzer set with at least 8 functional buzzers
-$15 per experienced staff/moderator with a working laptop and charger
-$10 travel discount for any school having to travel more than 200 miles one way (according to Google Maps)
