2024 Illinois Side Event Weekend (NASAT Main Event) (July 20th & 21st)

I am pleased to announce that the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will be hosting a Side Event Weekend on July 20th and July 21st featuring a NASAT main event and undecided side events. Our tournament will be held at Noyes Laboratory and I, Akshar Goyal, will be the Tournament Director.

Schedule
We aim to start at 9:00 AM on both days. Saturday, the main event, will be run on NASAT. More information on that set can be found here.

Sunday will feature undetermined side events that we will poll on for interest. These may include Untitled Film Set, This Set is Garbo, Ahead by a Century, LITANY and TOWNS just to name a few-- if there is interest for any others, that can work as well.

Payment
NASAT will cost $120 per team and the side events will each cost $20 per player. Details for payments will be emailed out to participating teams later.

Team Formation
A preliminary team formation sheet can be found here. Unfortunately, due to room reservation issues, there will be a hard cap of 12 teams for the field.

Fellow Wright State alumnus Bing Bingham and I are looking for 1 (maybe 2?) teammates for NASAT.

As a side note: Bonus Eventus will also be ready in time for this if folks are interested in a relatively short classics side event!

Good question. Separate sheets will be added for side events when we do the polling for those and figure out which ones we will mirror— tentatively we are aiming to have 3 side events on Sunday and the poll for those will be out soon.

We are getting a few questions about this so I would like to address this here: due to campus policy, we are not allowed to host events with attendees under the age of 18.

Our side events have been selected! From polling, we are mirroring "LITANY", "Notes on the Underground", and "Untitled Film Set".

Our sign up spreadsheet has been updated accordingly so please sign up on the different sheets! In addition, we strongly encourage you to staff events you are not interested in participating in as we may be short on staffers.

The events will be run as duos, though if there is little interest for a particular event we will shoot it out.
