2024 ACF Fall (Nationwide HS): 10/19/2024, Online

Post by oriley »

Hello. I am pleased to announce that I will be directing the nationwide high school site of 2024 ACF Fall online on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

The tournament will take place via Zoom and buzzin.live, with a central Discord server used for communication. The opening meeting will begin at 8:45 AM Central, and gameplay will begin at 9 AM Central. I will be the tournament director. Please direct any questions about this site to me at oriley1201 AT icloud DOT com.

Eligibility
Statistical eligibility restrictions do not apply to high school-only mirrors. This is a closed tournament, meaning all players on a team must be from the same school. Players uncertain of their eligibility to play with their school should consult ACF’s eligibility guidelines.

Rules
This tournament will follow ACF’s official gameplay rules. Rules specifically pertaining to online tournaments have been rendered in blue.

Registration
Fill out the central 2024 ACF Fall registration form with all relevant information. The field for each site can be found here.

If possible, teams in a region with an in-person high school mirror of ACF Fall (Illinois and Georgia) should register for that in-person site.

The field cap for this site will initially be set at 18 teams, and will expand as staff and team interest allows. If the field fills, additional teams will be placed on a waitlist until we can expand the field. Please register by October 10, 2024.

Fees
  • Base fee per team: $120
  • Shorthanded discount (1–2 players): −$60
  • Staffers: −$25 per experienced staffer. Staffers must register with ACF in advance by filling out this form.

As the field is expected to be fairly strong, it is not recommended that schools who are completely new to quizbowl attend this tournament. If you are from one such school and are interested in attending a tournament like this, please feel free to contact me separately. I’m happy to forward you other available tournament opportunities and the like.
