Penn Bowl 2024 Online Closed Mirror (11/9/2024)

Hey everyone,

We are excited to announce a closed overflow online mirror for Penn Bowl 2024 (Penn Bowl XXXII), head edited by Noah Sheidlower, with other various affiliated editors. This will be run over discord, and will be held on Saturday, 11/9/2024. although if there is enough interest in a different date we will consider changing it.

Registration is open. If teams are able, we encourage them to register for their in person regional mirror, and only register for this one if they are unable to attend their regional mirror. FEES/PAYMENT METHOD (Borrowed/Edited from Cody Voight)

For the online mirror, the fee to participate will be $100 per team, with a $15 discount per approved moderator.

We can accept cash, personal checks, or checks from school, school district, or quizbowl club funds. We have no ability to process purchase orders or credit cards, but we will accept Paypal and Venmo. Bringing forms of payment outside of the three listed will be considered nonpayment. We expect payment to be made by the date of the tournament, with late payments subject to a $25 late penalty (if payment is made through mail, as long as the payment is SENT before the tournament date, it will not be considered late, e.g. a mailed check that arrives after the date, but was sent before will be accepted with no penalty).

If teams are having issues/struggling with payment via the above methods on time, please let us know beforehand, and we are willing to be somewhat flexible with the late penalty IF we are informed of the problems beforehand.

All checks must be made out to either "Anirudh Bharadwaj" or "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania". If a check is not made out to neither "Anirudh Bharadwaj" nor "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania," we cannot accept this. If you address your checks to "Penn Quizbowl", we will not be able to accept them, and may become subject to the $25 late penalty. If you require a pre-tournament invoice or W9 in order to have a check cut, let us know early enough for your school to process the payment. We can generally send you an invoice the same day.
